Turning a brand-new building into a place that could come to life.

A new facility is more than walls, equipment and beautiful spaces. The real work begins when people walk through the doors.

I stepped into the Sounders FC training facility during the construction and design process and took the project from “What are we building?” to “How are we going to live in it?”

My role was to operationalize the facility from the inside out. We imagined how staff, players and teams would move through and use the space, then built the systems to support it—from policies, processes and operational procedures to emergency plans, handbooks and day-to-day facility standards.

I also helped integrate a new team into the building: the Seattle Reign. That meant thinking beyond the physical space to create an environment where multiple teams and staff could work, train and belong under one roof.

And then came the moment when it all became real.

I planned and led the first-day experience, welcoming the Sounders, Reign and staff into their new home and bringing everyone together in the space for the first time in history.

Because opening a facility isn't just about opening the doors.

It’s about making sure people are ready to walk through them.
