When matchday gets bigger, the details matter a whole lot more.

Hosting a championship match means taking everything that makes a normal matchday work—and adding a few more moving pieces, stakeholders and expectations to the mix.

For both the 2019 MLS Cup and 2021 Concacaf Champions League Final in Seattle, I served as the central project manager and liaison between the club, venue and soccer governing bodies, helping turn championship requirements into an experience that worked for everyone involved.

I managed the project from planning through matchday, identifying what would be different from a typical matchday, communicating those changes across staff and partners, and keeping the countless details moving toward completion.

That meant coordinating with the venue to maximize the fan experience and available capacity, managing home and visiting supporter group relationships, overseeing ticket allocations, coordinating partnership placements and activations, and ensuring signage, dressing and presentation all came together seamlessly.

Most importantly, we focused on continuity—making sure that while the match itself was anything but ordinary, the experience still felt unmistakably Seattle.

Because championship moments don't leave much room for “we'll figure it out on game day.”

The goal is to make the extraordinary feel effortless.
